FAQs

Where is the wedding?

The wedding is at The Oak Grove, Twinney Wharf, Upchurch, Kent. It’s a beautiful, secluded outdoor venue, but don’t worry, it’s very Google Maps-able and taxis know it well.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive from 12:30pm.The ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00pm, and we’d hate for you to miss the “I do” bit.

What’s the dress code?

Summer wedding (with a festival twist if you fancy!). The venue is mostly outside, so choose your shoes with that in mind!

What about food and drink?

There will be plenty of food and drink flowing throughout the day (no survival rations required).Dietary requirements can be added when you RSVP, please do tell us, we want everyone fed and happy.

Is it an outdoor venue?

Yes, the Oak Grove is mostly outside (set in a beautiful oak grove as the name would suggest) but there is a festival-style stretch tent for the food, speeches and dancing.

Are children invited?

Children are welcome to attend but it’s important to be aware that the Oak Grove is located directly next to the Thames estuary, with a public footpath leading through the venue to the water. As a result, the venue requires that every child attending must be supervised at all times. We’d love to see your kids there, but please do include them on your RSVP so we can notify the venue of numbers and the names of the people who will be responsible for them.

How do I get home?

Taxis and Ubers are available locally, and we’ll share recommended taxi numbers on the day. If you’re staying nearby, transport should be straightforward, just don’t plan on driving after enjoying the bar.If you’re heading back into London, we’ll have danced the last dance with time to catch the last train back from Rainham station.

Where should I stay?

There are lots of hotels and accommodation options nearby, all a short taxi journey away.Check the Local Stays page on the website for some suggestions.

Do you have a gift list?

Your presence is genuinely the best gift. But if you’d like to contribute, we’ve set up a honeymoon fund, which you’ll find on the website.

Can I take photos?

You’re absolutely welcome to take pictures throughout the day, just not during the ceremony itself.

Are we allowed to leave early?

Of course. But we’ll know.

I still have a question…

Drop us a message, or check back here, because if you’re wondering it, someone else probably is too.
